Snetterton circuit awaits for Patrick Kibble in British GT this weekend

Fresh from his strong performance in his debut British GT weekend at Oulton Park, Patrick Kibble now heads to Snetterton for the next round of the 2019 championship this weekend.

Patrick Kibble heads to the Snetterton 300 circuit this week and the 16-year-old will be looking to replicate his previous joy at the track from last year that saw the youngster stand on the podium after a strong performance in his Ginetta.

Now racing in the British GT Championship, the Aston Martin Racing Academy Driver and his team-mate Josh Price are hoping to continue their strong start to the season as they tackle the next round of the year in the closely contested GT4 class.

Patrick was the first of the duo to tackle qualifying in the opening round at Oulton Park, and he marked his arrival to the championship with a sterling performance. With a best lap time of 1:44.377, Patrick lined the #95 car sixth on the grid for the first race before walking away with a fifth-place finish in class in their first race together.

Race two proved to be more tricky for the TF Sport team with an unfortunate retirement in the books. However, with much of the race distance completed, Patrick was able to hone in on their race craft and gain plenty of valuable time behind the wheel in a new series for the youngster.

Currently eighth in the drivers’ standings with 10 points to his name, Patrick is hoping to continue his form from Oulton Park to the 3-mile Norfolk-based track this weekend.

“Overall, there was a lot of positives to take from my first British GT weekend," he said. "As soon as we left Oulton Park, my thoughts and focus shifted to this weekend and how we were going to better our performance. Josh and I drove a solid race one and I know what we have to do to maintain that good form.

“Snetterton is a great circuit and I’ve had success there before. It’s a circuit that I enjoy racing at and I’m hoping that the performance this weekend will reflect that.”

After beginning his GCSEs this week, Patrick focus switches to racing as he prepares for another competitive weekend in his new championship and the weekend gets underway with qualifying taking place on Saturday at 16:15, with races one and two on Sunday at 11:10 and 15:25 respectively.
